I received yet another Christmas present today. When I got home from work, there next to the back door was a brand new, custom-made wood shelter. You may laugh, but it's exactly what I wished for. In 2007.
The back story is that I wanted a better way to cover the wood we keep near the back door for our fireplace. I stopped at Lowe's in the fall of 2007 and bought one of their wood racks. It came with a zippered cover, but the darned thing was so flimsy that I ended up taking it back to the store. Jim promised to make me a better one. Of course, he's so busy that finding the time to spend in his shop to make me a wood shelter kept falling to the bottom of his to-do list. And I wasn't about to complain - he does so many thoughtful things for me already.
Well, tonight he placed the shelter by the back door, had the crew fill it up with wood, stuck two bows on it and left me a card that said "I love you". It's made of steel, with a mesh back and a roof. Now, is that a sweet farmer I have, or what?
Nice! Can he make me one for my recycling bins?

It did make me laugh but I also got it. My "present" was a real bathroom window instead of a 3'X5'one at the back of the tub. I got the window for a Christmas present and my sweetie installed it the next day. After that we always laughed and compared all presents to the window.
